Our Staff

Mark Sherman is the president and owner of the Mark Sherman CPA firm in Las Vegas. He’s a certified public accountant in Nevada and California with an exceptional background. Mark graduated from the California State University at Northridge, following which he worked for the nationwide accounting firm BDO Seidman.

Mark has handled corporate banking for Avery Dennison Corporation and worked as the Controller/CFO for Steel Engineers Incorporated. He is currently a member of the Nevada Board of Accountancy and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mark personally meets with and councils all new and existing clients.

Samantha Perry is the business manager and an enrolled agent with the Internal Revenue Service. She has completed and passed the three-part IRS tests covering individual and business tax return preparation, and she has been with the firm for over 14 years. She works directly with Mark and the clients to ensure the firm runs smoothly.

Sarah Eakins is the Executive Assistant at Mark Sherman CPA. She works side by side with Mark and Samantha handling IRS Audits and IRS Correspondence. She also handles all Secretary of State filings for clients such as annual list & business license renewals, name changes, dissolutions, and registered agent changes. She is also licensed as a Notary Public for the State of Nevada

Tiffany Mitchell is the Director of Client Relations at Mark Sherman CPA. She ensures that the firm maintains optimal performance and that all new and existing clients are continuously satisfied with their experience. She also manages all Administrative Staff making sure the firm runs smoothly at all times. With her 10+years of experience in customer service and passion for helping others, she has built a solid foundation within our client relations.

Shannon Lewis is the staff account and enrolled agent with 13+ years of experience preparing tax returns. She helps clients across numerous industries plan and achieve their financial goals through various tasks, such as bookkeeping, tax planning, and financial and tax preparation; as well as being a Nevada state licensed Notary. In addition to that, Shannon is a dedicated wife and mom of four, and she loves working at MSCPA because it’s a close-knit family of coworkers and clients.

Kayla Novotny is the senior staff accountant at Mark Sherman CPA. She is a third-generation Las Vegas native with 15+ years of experience in accounting, she has a Master of Science-Accounting, and she’s a certified Divorce Financial Analyst. Kayla specializes in business taxes, financial preparation, and divorce financial analysis.

Jennifer Hayes is a Staff Accountant at Mark Sherman CPA. She has 14+ years of experience, thriving in financial cleanup for businesses. Having relocated from Boston to Las Vegas with her two children, she balances her dedication to accounting with a love for family time.

Sarah Hernandez is the bookkeeping manager at Mark Sherman CPA. She received her bookkeeping certification from the College of Southern Nevada and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Phoenix. She oversees a client’s financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. She also performs daily accounting tasks, such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments.

Amanda is our Technical Services Administrator at Mark Sherman CPA. She facilitates communication and important paperwork between our clients and the technical staff. She provides support to all in office staff to ensure the maximum efficiency of the office as well as the best client experience possible.

Simone is our Bookkeeper at Mark Sherman CPA. Currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, on a determined journey towards becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). With accounting clerk and accounting assistant certificates from Dallas College, she handles the intricacies of bookkeeping and its multifaceted responsibilities on a daily basis. Whether it’s reconciling accounts, tracking financial transactions, or ensuring compliance, she prides herself on maintaining precise records that contribute to the financial health and success of businesses.

Jade Aiken is our Administrative Assistant at Mark Sherman CPA. She is responsible for ensuring the front office runs seamlessly by maintaining contact with all clients as well as all technical staff. She is the first one clients talk to when they call or come in the office and takes pride in making sure all clients feel welcomed and valued. She is also a dedicated student and will be attending UNLV to study accounting.

Back in 2011, our firm hired an exceptional staff accountant that quickly learned and grew with us to become an integral part of our accounting team. Cauleen had a personality that was larger than life and it was a pleasure having her on our team. She loved working with people, had a wonderful work ethic, and was just an all-around kind loving person. Cauleen enjoyed traveling with her husband, riding her motorcycle, seeing the latest blockbuster film, and spending time on the river with her three dogs. Chicken phalanges (as she called them) were her favorite meal and we could always count on her to have some ramen noodles in her desk when we forgot our lunch.

On Friday, September 11th, 2020, she suddenly passed away from an unknown medical condition. Our sorrow is immeasurable and we deeply grieve her loss. Our hearts go out to her husband, Shad, her son Kazen, and her grandchildren.
